I was listening to BBC Radio at the weekend and they had a live link up with a radio station called Hot 107.9 in New York and basically they were taking the views of both the Americans and the Brits to the bombings.
As with the Question Time programme here in the UK, I was flabbergasted by the amount of Anglo Saxon Britons who rang up and criticised US foreign policy for helping to contribute to the awful events last week.
The presenter in New York couldn't believe the anti-American sentiment that was coming out of Briton and continued to shout and heckle these callers when they came on.
As ever I couldn't believe the double standards with respect to freedom of speech.
My question though to all the members of the Madina is how are the ordinary people in your parts of the world reacting to the events and the likely action that's going to take place.
Speaking for Britain I would say that although there are a few people who are wary of these attacks on Afghanistan, most of the public are 100% behind Blair and consequently Bush.
As has been pointed out many times before though, the ordinary citizens of this country only have access to conventional media so who are they to know any better but believe what their press tells them?

I am from Germany, and the most of the ppl are behind the USA. Gerhard Schroeder said, that Germany is 100%ly behind the States, and that they'll support them in any way (as possible)...but that's what he said.
The masjids and muslim Organizations were/still are threatened by some anonymous ppl by phone or by Mail.
Sisters at the streets are spit at and verbally attacked. I heard about a case in Berlin, that somebody tried to attack girls with hejjab...but that is quite unsure. Some arab sisters, who do not wear hejjab, were insulted by their boss at work, right after this in NY happened.
But there is also an amount of Germans, who try 'protect' the muslims.
I didnt face such bad experiences alhamdulillah. Just feeling some hostile eyes at the streets, but inshaAllah we have to try to be patient.
The strange thing about this lebanese guy is, that he wasn't islamic at all (that's what his family said). He even had a girlfriend.
The investigators just looked at the arab names on the passengers list and who had a 1 way ticket. What kind of investiagtion is that?
They have no other evidences.
Anyways...I think the most of you know that better than me. I just wanted to tell you my doubts and the situation here.
May Allah be pleased with us inshaAllah
